Lizzie King is an illustrator & designer based in Hackney, whose hand drawn, bold and playful creations can be spotted all over the city.

Colourful and optimistic, Lizzie’s designs draw on her experience as a born & bred Londoner. The capital’s rich and diverse tapestry of culture & street style forever sparking new ideas. From Notting Hill Carnival, Ridley Road Market to car boots and gold shops.  Inspiration also comes from dreams of holidays abroad, Ancient Greek columns & pots to palm trees, sound-systems & sunsets on the beach.

Her bright style is influenced by hours spent watching cartoons as a child, which has translated into eye-catching large-scale murals. These have popped up on windows from London to Los Angeles for the likes of Nike, Melody Ehsani & Lazy Oaf. She is just as happy hand-drawing a window in a major shopping district as she is working on more intimate projects like creating digital stickers for Snapchat or painting bespoke leather notebooks for Smythson. In 2019 she started her own line of t-shirts, Paradise Classics, that unite her love of the Nineties and some of her most distinctive motifs.

Lizzie’s work underlines the fluidity of being an artist today, as well as being an ode to strong women. From a young age Lizzie was fascinated by music videos featuring artists such as Missy Elliot & Lil Kim. Their style & attitude is something that still informs her work now, 25 years after taking notes while watching MTV & The Box.
